Wellroot Family Services, formerly known as the United Methodist Children’s Home, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to empowering children and families in crisis, is thrilled to announce its annual fundraising gala, scheduled to take place on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at Zoo Atlanta. With the generous support of the presenting sponsor, the Liz Blake Giving Fund, and co-chairs, Coner Cap CEO Cannon Carr and Benoit Group CEO Eddy Benoit Jr., this highly anticipated event aims to raise crucial funds to support Wellroot’s mission to restore children and families from trauma.
The evening will showcase the inspiring story and vocal stylings of former Wellroot resident, Eshontee Rowe. A dedicated youth advocate, Rowe employs her voice to champion youth transitioning out of foster care through heartfelt storytelling. She will grace the stage with a solo vocal performance, followed by a dueling pianos performance by the talented Mark Kovaly.
In addition to Rowe’s performance, the Zoo Atlanta elephant exhibit creates a majestic backdrop for the evening’s cocktail hour hosted on the Tembo Trek. Guests can mix, mingle, and browse the auction items on display at the event. The silent auction is open to everyone in attendance or at home to participate. Contributions will directly benefit Wellroot’s vital programs and initiatives.
The gala will feature an exquisite dining experience crafted by Proof of the Pudding, renowned for its culinary expertise. Guests can anticipate dual entrée meal options, offering an array of flavors to delight the palate.
