The Clayton County Police Department E-911 Communications Unit recently made care baskets for Spalding County Communications (not pictured) and Coweta County Communications to show support to fellow “headset heroes.” “The baskets were filled with our love, prayers, and packed with goodies for all to enjoy,” a statement from CCPD read. “Both agencies do an outstanding job of protecting our first responders and being the calm voice that so many rely on. We stand with you in the good times and the bad, but we thank you for all that you do. Just know that your hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed.” Both Spalding and Coweta have recently lost officers in the line of duty. Spalding County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Marc McIntyre was killed in the line of duty Dec. 29 and Coweta County Sheriff’s Office Dep. Eric Minix was killed Jan. 3.
