Leading foodservice equipment provider LTI (Low Temp Industries) announces the retirement of Mike Purcell, vice president of sales and marketing, effective June 2, 2024. Purcell has been an integral part of the LTI family since 1996, contributing significantly to the company’s success over the years.
With over four decades of experience in the foodservice industry, Purcell’s career has been marked by various roles, including numerous foodservice operations positions, equipment dealer sales rep, direct sales rep, principal of a manufacturer’s rep group and president of a start-up manufacturer. His leadership and involvement in key sales and marketing initiatives have positioned LTI for continued success.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mike for his outstanding contributions to LTI over the years. His dedication, expertise and leadership have played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s trajectory,” said Barbara Casey Lane, president of LTI. “We wish Mike all the best in his well-deserved retirement!”
As part of the strategic transition plan, LTI is pleased to announce the promotion of Johnnie Merchant to the role of vice president of sales and marketing. Merchant, who joined LTI as a regional sales manager in April 2023, brings over 30 years of experience in leadership roles within the foodservice industry.
“Johnnie’s promotion is a testament to his exceptional skills and commitment to excellence. We are confident that he will build upon the legacy left by Mike and continue to drive LTI’s growth in the years to come,” stated Casey Lane.
Merchant will work closely with Purcell over the next six months to ensure a smooth transition into his new role.
A graduate of Stephen F. Austin University in Texas with a Bachelor of Business in Marketing, Merchant’s previous roles include eastern regional sales manager for New Age Industrial and partner and South Texas territory sales manager at Equipment Preference Inc.
