MORROW — From mid-November through early December, the Clayton County Public Schools’ Division of Student Support Services conducted a massive new toy collection campaign.
Under the title of a “Holiday of Love New Toy Drive: A CCPS Collective Impact Event,” Student Support Services invited all district schools and auxiliary locations to donate new toys.
The purpose of this first-ever district-wide event was to provide the district’s students and families in need with a personalized shopping experience during the holiday season.
More than 900 students and families registered for the shopping event.
Recently, members of the Division of Student Support Services — along with other CCPS personnel and community volunteers — prepared the exhibit hall at the Morrow Center at Southlake Mall for an afternoon of shopping and outreach.
The doors opened Thursday, Dec. 14 and while adults shopped for free toys, bikes, headphones, coats and other items, their children were treated to crafts, games, music, and a visit with Santa Claus.
