JONESBORO — The Clayton County Public Schools’ Homeless Education Department held its annual Cards for Caring and More distribution day Saturday.
The event provided outreach support for more than 50 families and 140 children who were eligible to participate.
In addition to focusing on gift cards — supplied by various school district departments and divisions along with individual community members — this year’s program also focused on wellness and fitness.
While families received gift cards to various department stores as well as area restaurants, this year’s event offered children a choice of a smartwatch or Nike hoodies.
Families also received BlendJet mini-blenders and a Gain Laundry Basket Kits. Special giveaways for some families included an air fryer.
