Each year, the Georgia School Public Relations Association holds a Publications, Photography, and Electronic Media Contest — and this year, the Clayton Public Schools Communications Department won several awards.
The competition acknowledges school public relations professionals demonstrating exceptional communication skills by producing outstanding publications, photography, and electronic media.
Of the six products that were entered by CCPS, five earned award recognition.
— Earning a Bronze Award of Excellence in the category of Newsletter/Newspaper/Magazine (for Clayton County Public Schools March 2023 March Newsletter) was Ronald Jones Shields II.
— Earning a Bronze Award of Excellence in the category of Videography/Electronic Media (for CCPS Students Celebrate Black History Month) was Jacqueline Simmonds.
— Earning a Bronze Award of Excellence in the category of Videography/Electronic Media (for CCPS Employee and Alumni Spotlights Video) was Nickey Frazier.
— Earning two Silver Awards of Excellence in the category of Videography/Electronic Media (for CTAE Firefighter Pathway Video and New Hire Experience) was Peter Poole.
— Also recognized were Damon Irving for the development of graphic design elements and Charles White for editorial services.
