JONESBORO — The Clayton County Public Schools’ Homeless Education Department is holding its annual Cards for Caring holiday sponsorship.
Gift cards of $25 are being accepted through Friday, Dec. 15 at the CCPS Homeless Education Department, 2260 Old Rex-Morrow Road, Suite D, Morrow Annex/CCPS International Center, Morrow.
The distribution event will be held Saturday, Dec. 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the CCPS Café, 1098 Fifth Ave., Jonesboro.
A glance at some other local drives this holiday season:
— A toy drive and fundraiser to help children in foster care in Clayton County is scheduled Thursday, Dec. 7 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Club Sugar Bush, 7955 Tara Blvd., Jonesboro. New unwrapped toys and or monetary donations will be accepted.
— Forest Park Fire and Emergency Services is holding its 2023 Holiday Toy Drive through Dec. 14. Donations can be dropped off at Fire Station 1 at 4530 Jonesboro Road, Fireteams Station 2 at 785 Linda Way, and Fire Station 3 at 2090 Anvil Blok Road.
— Clayton County Fire and Emergency Services is holding a blanket drive through Friday, Dec. 15. Blankets can be dropped off at any Clayton County fire station.
— The Clayton County Kinship Care Giving Tree, formerly called the Angel Tree, was started to provide less fortunate children raised by their grandparents and other relative caregivers with new clothing and toy items at Christmas. Angels may be adopted until Dec. 15.

— The Clayton County Tax Commissioner’s Office is hosting its Third Annual Coats for Christmas drive. Donations of coats, gloves, scarves, mittens, or hats will be accepted through Dec. 18.
Drop donations off at the Clayton County Tax Commissioner’s Office, 121 S. McDonough Street, Annex 3, Jonesboro.
Families can pick up coats on Dec. 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. while supplies last.
