The city of Lovejoy recently honored Mayor Bobby Cartwright, pictured third from right, by dedicating Lovejoy’s Mayor’s Park as the new Bobby Cartwright Park. Cartwright has served Lovejoy for over 20 years. Cartwright was appointed to the Lovejoy City Council in 2002 and was elected to the council in 2003. He served as mayor since March of 2012 but will be stepping down at the end of the year.
