MORROW — The Georgia Archives is hosting its October Lunch and Learn event featuring historian Andrew Bramlett discussing “Georgia’s Former State Parks.”
The Friday, Oct. 13 event is from noon to 1 p.m. at the Georgia Archives, 5800 Jonesboro Board, Morrow.
Bramlett, 17, is a local historian from Kennesaw.
He is vice president of the Kennesaw Historical Society and honorary member of of the Cemetery Preservation Commission for the City of Kennesaw.
He volunteers with the Kennesaw Parks and Recreation Department and at the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, where he is a tour guide on the shuttle bus to the top of the mountain on weekends.
His is also social media administrator for the Friends of Kennesaw Mountain and manages two social media sites — a site on world history called Archive of the Past and a site on Georgia history called Peach State Past.
In 2018, Bramlett won a Georgia Historical Records Advisory Council Award for Local History Advocacy for his work on the history of the City of Kennesaw and Kennesaw Mountain, and his Kennesaw City Cemetery Walking Tour.
In 2023, Bramlett was named the 2023 Honorary City Historian for the City of Kennesaw and is also the Save Acworth History Foundation archivist.
He speaks to civic groups, senior centers, and community groups on a wide variety of topics.
The Lunch and Learn presentation is free and no registration is required.
